Abstract

This article analyzes the classes or types of self-employed person. Based on this classification, work in the digital era is analyzed, focusing especially on work on digital platforms, its concept, characteristics and regulation in Chile. The analysis of said regulation allows us to conclude that the workers regulated in Law 21,431 correspond to those called “economically dependent self-employed workers”. Likewise, the article explores the deficiencies that Law 21,431 has for the protection of independent workers, especially in the field of Social Security.
