Author Guidelines

Document format

Manuscripts must be submitted in Word format (.doc or .docx), in Spanish, English or Portuguese. Letter-size page with 2.5 cm margins; Times New Roman 12 pt, 1.5 line spacing; page numbers in the lower right corner of each page.

2. Length

Research articles: between 8,000 and 10,000 words. Essays: between 5,000 and 8,000 words. Book reviews: between 2,000 and 3,000 words. In all cases the word count excludes the reference list.

3. Structure of the research article

Title: in the original language of the work and also in English; concise and descriptive of the topic addressed. Abstract: in the original language of the work and in English, 150 words, including objectives, methodology, results and conclusions. Keywords: between 3 and 5, in the original language and in English. Body: introduction, methodology, results, discussion and conclusions. Acknowledgements and funding sources (if applicable). Brief author biographies. References.

4. Structure of the essay

Title in the original language of the work and in English. Abstract in the original language and in English, 150 words. Between 3 and 5 keywords in both languages. Body: introduction, discussion and conclusions. Brief author biographies. References.

5. Structure of the book review

Title of the reviewed work; authorship; bibliographic information (publisher, year of publication, number of pages, ISBN or other identifier). Body: introduction, description of the work, critical analysis, conclusions and recommendations. Brief author biographies. References.

6. Indigenous language policy

Where empirical articles involve Indigenous populations, authors must include an abstract in the Indigenous language of the research participants, following the general guidelines on length and structure for abstracts.

7. Citation and references

The journal follows the American Psychological Association (APA) style, 7th edition. References must be listed at the end of the document in alphabetical order by the first author's surname. At least 70 % of the references are expected to be recent, preferably published within the last five years.

8. Tables, figures and supplementary material

Tables and figures must be numbered in order of appearance, carry descriptive titles and follow APA 7th edition. Images must be submitted in JPEG, PNG or TIFF format with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. All tables and figures must be mentioned in the text and must state their source when not produced by the authors. Supplementary material must be submitted as separate, clearly labelled files.

9. Authorship and contribution

All signatories must have contributed significantly to the development of the research and the manuscript. A paragraph must be added at the end of each author biography stating the role performed according to the CRediT taxonomy and the percentage of contribution to the manuscript.

10. Anonymisation

As the journal applies double-blind peer review, authors must remove from the manuscript and from the file metadata all references to names, affiliations, funding sources or any other identifiable information before submitting.

11. Documents to accompany the submission

Declaration of originality and conflicts of interest, signed by all authors. Where applicable, documentation certifying ethical approval of the research.

12. Use of artificial intelligence

Any use of generative artificial intelligence tools must be explicitly disclosed in the manuscript, stating the tool, its version and the purpose for which it was used, in accordance with the journal's artificial intelligence policy.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

Artículos

Original academic and argumentative texts reporting the results of empirical research, offering a rigorous and analytical view of the topics discussed. Length between 8,000 and 10,000 words, excluding the reference list. All articles undergo double-blind peer review.

Ensayos

Producciones de naturaleza argumentativa y académica que fundamentan y discuten la relevancia de un tema asociado a las Ciencias de la Educación, enmarcado en la línea editorial de la revista. Extensión entre 5.000 y 8.000 palabras, sin considerar el listado de referencias. Los ensayos son sometidos a revisión por pares doble ciego.

Reseñas

Works based on a publication released within the last three years, covering a broad range of works related to education. The review must offer a critical reading from a distinctive and in-depth perspective on the reviewed work. Length between 2,000 and 3,000 words, excluding the reference list. It must state the title of the work, its authors and bibliographic information (publisher, year of publication, number of pages, ISBN or other identifier).

Privacy Statement

The names, email addresses and other personal data entered in this journal will be used exclusively for the purposes stated by it — managing the editorial process, communicating with authors, reviewers and readers, and disseminating published content — and will not be made available to third parties or used for any other purpose.

Data are stored on the institutional platform of Universidad Católica de Temuco and are processed in accordance with Chilean privacy protection legislation and applicable international standards.

Registered users may at any time request access to, rectification of, or deletion of their data by writing to the journal's contact address. Deleting an account does not affect information associated with already published works, which forms part of the public record of scientific publication.

The name, institutional affiliation, ORCID identifier and biography of the authors of published works are disseminated publicly as part of the article metadata and are transmitted to indexing services and to the persistent identifier agencies with which the journal has agreements.
