Abstract
This paper deals with an approach to the confl ict between the Mapuche peo-ple and the Chilean state, in the context of the struggle for recognition as per Axel Honneth. In this sense, Mapuche organizations and their leaders ques-tion the prevailing social order in Chile, and propose practical resistance in the moral conviction that they are suffering. The translates into a lack of justice and the denial of their cultural diff erences. These cultural injustices are found in Chilean society’s social patterns of representation, interpretation and communication.
