Abstract
The phenomenon of the economic globalization -and its main features, neoliberalism and international trade- has determined the global economic trends during the last decades. Latin America has not been excluded
from this process. We will analyze how the globalization of markets has influenced on the Brazilian economic policy which is the leading economic country in the region. In addition, we will be able to appreciate how the Brazilian
economy has achieved a successful adaptation to the new tendencies. Actually, we will review how Brazil has accelerated its growth rates but at the same time obtained an increasingly fair distribution of the benefi ts promised
by (globalization).
