The concept of cosmopolitan citizenship has been present in the philosophical thought since from the Enlightenment. In the contemporary political philosophy this concept has attracted the attention of some authors, although not all of their proposals have had the same success. This paper discusses some of John Rawls’ideas about cosmopolitan citizenship expressed in his work «The Law of Peoples», and some criticisms that can be made to this proposal.
