Abstract
Brazilian women continue to receive unequal and discriminatory treatment, partly for historical and cultural reasons and partly due to the lack of gender equality in the Brazilian legal system. The aim of the present study is to analyse the inadequacies of labour legislation – including the norms re-lated to "Labour Reform" – as they relate to gender equality, considering that the regulation of women's work is flawed in terms of fair and equal insertion of women in the labour market. The methodology is bibliographical, based on national and international authors as well as reading and research in books, magazine articles, official websites and national and international legislation
