Abstract

Gender violence has been, and remains, one of the clearest manifestations
of inequality, subordination, and power relations of men over women. For this reason, the purpose of this article is to share the opinion of professionals who work with victims of gender violence, and to propose the use of mediation as an alternative system for managing conflicts in specific cases. The research was realized with quantitative methodology, and specifically with surveys. The findings reveal that the mediation process can serve to strengthen the victim’s confidence in herself and to persuade her not to subordinate her needs, or those of her children, to the perpetrator again
